What is A Place in the Galaxy?

A Place in the Galaxy is the title of a new documentary being filmed this summer that explores the nature of the Star Wars community, particularly bloggers, but also with emphasis on costumers, collectors and other sub-divisions of the family.
The film will be a celebration of Star Wars fans, the inspiration that the saga gives them, and the support they give to each other.

Who or what is Studio Moraine?

Studio Moraine is a film production company based in the Los Gatos hills near San Jose, California. They are an independant company who enjoy making short films and features with strange or thought-provoking themes. How can I get involved?

If you would like to be on camera, or have a suggestion for an interesting subject for us to film, please contact us through the email provided on the main page. We are always on the lookout for interesting people and stories to present. Also, we will be travelling a lot this summer, and if you want to get involved in the production side of the film we would be happy to bring you aboard!

What is the focus of the film?

The documentary will look at what it means to be a fan, and in particular, how fans interact with each other. The spine of the film will concern the blogging community, but branching out from this will be three other topics, collecting, costuming and fan films. We will be looking how each of these satellite communities support each other and ultimately make the family stronger.

Where will you be filming?

Final preparations are underway to determine our filming destinations, but the tentative list reads as follows: LA (for Celebration Four), New York, England (for Celebration Europe), Texas, Indiana, Philidelphia and pretty much anywhere in California.

Where is my registration e-mail?
